The Coming Week In London: New Year Plans, Cosy Corners and Fireworks
From 29 December to 4 January, here is how to enjoy London in style.
Hi there,
Christmas is winding down and New Year is around the corner. If you are in London this week, here is where to hide away, what to book, and how to watch the fireworks in style.
Brigadiers, City of London
Indian barbecue, whisky, and a smart clubhouse feel in the Bloomberg Arcade, with private rooms, screens, and a strong bar menu. Great for a long dinner before or after New Year plans in the City.
👉 Book it

Discount Suit Company, Spitalfields
A basement cocktail bar hidden behind an unmarked door on a side street near Liverpool Street. Expect classic drinks, candlelight, and a small, lively room that feels very far from the office towers above.

The Alfred Tennyson, Belgravia
A polished Belgravia pub with cosy upstairs rooms, good food and plenty of dark wood and soft lighting. Ideal for meeting friends somewhere smart but relaxed between Christmas and New Year.

🎉Events This Week
Horizon 22 New Year’s Eve Party (31 December)
Welcome the New Year from one of London’s highest viewing platforms. Horizon 22 hosts a special New Year’s Eve party 58 floors up, with DJs, drinks and skyline views in every direction.

London New Year’s Eve Fireworks (31 December)
The capital’s main New Year moment on the Thames, with fireworks over the London Eye and Big Ben at midnight. This is a ticketed event on the riverside, but you can also feel the energy from viewing spots across central London.

New Year sessions at Sky Garden
Sky Garden runs special New Year sessions with music, drinks and views from the top of 20 Fenchurch Street. A strong option if you want a warm indoor vantage point and a party atmosphere rather than standing outside by the river.

🌟Highlight This Week
Hampstead Heath and the Parliament Hill View
One of the best winter walks in London. Climb up to Parliament Hill for wide views over the city skyline, then drop back into Hampstead or Gospel Oak for a cafe stop. On a clear day between Christmas and New Year, it feels like a quiet reset above the city.
👉 Try starting from Hampstead or Gospel Oak stations and walking up to Parliament Hill.

👗Fashion This Week
LN-CC, Dalston
An experimental concept store tucked away in a Dalston backstreet, mixing high fashion, streetwear and design in a set of tunnel-like rooms. If you want something very different from the West End sale rails, this is your spot.
